Mr. Lyndell Farris Powell, age 62 of Bloomfield, New Mexico was called home by his Heavenly Father on Saturday July 4, 2026.

He was born on July 29, 1963, to James Lee Powell and Edith Mae Roberts in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and was raised on the family farm surrounded by his parents and siblings in Hulbert, Oklahoma.

He specialized as a union ironworker and certified welder. Other skills included power plant operator and electrician. Lyndell was an avid outdoors man, from an early age hunting and fishing in the back woods. He had a great sense of humor, always ready with a joke or two. Lyndell was extremely loyal to those he loved and he loved his family dearly beyond measure. He will be missed terribly yet never forgotten for he touched the hearts of many.

He was preceded in death by his parents James Lee and Edith Mae Powell. Maternal grandparents: Eltha Roberts and Andrew Roberts, Paternal grandparents: John Powell and Jessie Powell. His brothers: John A., Larry, James, Ronnie and William Powell. His sisters: Lucille Goff and Priscilla Estep. His brother-in law: Chris Petersen.

Surviving are his beloved wife Sylvia Maria Valdez-Powell of Bloomfield, NM, His son: Farris Powell, His daughters: Natasha Bell, Amber Thomas and Jessica Powell all of Oklahoma.

His stepchildren: Robert A. Rivera Jr., Ruben A. Polanco Jr. and Anna Maria Johnston all of Bloomfield, NM.

Numerous grandchildren including Grady of Bloomfield, NM.

His Sisters: Lrinda Petersen and Pamela Chapps. Brother-in-law: Frank Chapps all of Oklahoma. His Brothers: Allen Powell of Bonham, TX., and Carl Powell of Muskogee, OK. Brothers-in-law: Andy Valdez, David Valdez, Louis Valdez and Ramon Valdez all of Bloomfield, NM.

Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including Robert (Debbie) Thomason of OK.

There will be a private family memorial service to be set at a later date. The family request discretion and privacy at this time. Thank you.
