Obituary Image

Lila was born on October 20, 1934 in Altura, Colorado. She grew up in Rosa, New Mexico. Lila married the love of her life, Tony Rivas, on February 17, 1955. They settled in Pagosa Springs, Colorado in the late 50s where they raised their two children, Anthony and Teresa. They later moved to Kirtland, New Mexico in 1978 and made it their permanent home.

Lila found treasure in so many things in this world. She had a great love of flowers, especially purple cosmos that she grew in her garden every summer. She loved to cook. Banana bread, carrot cake, and her perfectly round tortillas were her specialty and family favorites. She loved animals and considered her pets family. She was very sentimental and kept everything that was given to her. Her greatest quality, and the one that will be most missed is her gentle soul and kind heart. She found a friend in everyone she met and loved each one of them. Her ability to make people feel so special will always be remembered.
