Mary Josephine “Josie” Cadava
March 21, 1937 – May 27, 2024
Josie Cadava, 87, of Blanco, NM went home to be with her Heavenly Father on May 27, 2024.
Josie was born in Van Houten, NM and her family later moved to Oceanside, CA., then later moved to National City, CA.
Josie met Nelson at a dance club and won a few dance competitions. They even made it in the Daily Times newspaper in May of 2006 during the Bloomfield Days event. Every chance they had; they would be at a dance. The local bands would invite them to where they would be performing.
Josie was a member of St. Rose of Lima’s Legion of Mary, where she served as secretary, Vice President, and President. She also served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Josie is reunited with her loving husband, Nelson, of 65 years, where they are already dancing up a storm. Her parents, Manuel and Genevieve, her brothers, Alfred, Frank, Manuel Jr., Lucio, and David, and her Godson, Raymond.
She is survived by her daughter, Bernice, son, David E, grandson, David M, her sisters, Alice (James), and Rosie (Orlando), her brother, John, her Godson Kris, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Although she will be dearly missed, her spirit will live on in each of us forever.
Services will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Blanco, NM. Rosary at 10:00 am and mass at 10:30 am.
