It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Ester Mills who left this world on July 11th, 2026, at the age of 86. Mary, known to many by her middle name Ester, was the absolute rock of her family. Unwaveringly strong, independent, and full of a vibrant light that guided us all.

She lived a spirited life filled with joy, known for her love of dancing and music, always having a smile on her face, and her unshakeable strength as the family’s foundation.

Mary is survived by her daughters Valerie Mills and Ireta Mills-Robinson; her brother and sister-in-law Levi and Aspasia Garcia; her grandchildren Bryan Eckrote, Elise Morgan, Celia Eckrote, Teri Croy, Wendy Croy, and Mary Tiffany; 13 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Rebecca and Jake Garcia, her brothers Clyde and Richard Garcia, and her sister Lucy Greer.

A memorial service to honor Mary’s life will be held on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026, at 1pm at the Marvel Methodist Church in Hesperus, Colorado. A Celebration of Life Potluck will follow at the Marvel Grange, where family and friends will gather.
