Michael Benson

Micheal Benson, 42, of Bloomfield, New Mexico, passed away on February 28, 2024, in Bloomfield, New Mexico.  Michael was born on May 7, 1981, in Farmington, New Mexico, to parents Jim Benson & Tina Gundlach.

Michael loved the outdoors and had recently decided that he also loved to Fish. But most of all he was an Elk Hunter. His whole year consisted of getting ready for the Elk Hunt. Michael worked most of his life as an Oil Field Mechanic. Most recently he worked for San Juan County as a Mechanic, and he absolutely loved his job and everyone he worked with. He lived with his best friends’ family and was very much a member of that family. Michael leaves behind a legacy of Memories that friends and family will remember forever. He will be missed in ways not even words can understand. We will forever be grateful for the time we had together.  

Michael is preceded in death by his mother Tina Gundlach, grandparents Jo Lee Benson, and Uncle Kevin Jones.

Michael is survived by his son Benjamin Benson, daughter Zayna Thompson, Father Jim Benson, sisters Alyssa Benson, and Rhiannon Benson, and grandparents Stanley Benson and Illa Jones.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024, 2:00pm at Farmington Funeral Home, 2111 W. Apache Street, Farmington, New Mexico.
