Michelle Summer Begay McGrath

Michelle Summer Begay McGrath passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Michelle came into the McGrath family in April 2000, having been born on September 2, 1999. From the moment Michelle and her brother Malcolm came into the McGrath family, she brought excitement, laughter, and joy.

Michelle will be remembered for her vibrant creativity. She loved art and poetry, and visiting with friends. In her younger years, she loved being active, especially playing tennis and hiking, always full of energy. Her compassion for animals was unmatched, and her heart was always open to those in need. She had a remarkable way of seeing and standing up for the underdog, never afraid to speak out or offer support.

Michelle had a magnetic personality and spoke her mind fearlessly. She could light up a room and enjoyed bringing people together. A special memory will be her organizing a game of “Among Us” with her family, a game that required adults to tap into their inner child. Her laugh was contagious, and her smile was a comfort. She could talk to anyone, making each person feel seen, heard, and valued. Even in her final days she continued to make her nurses and loved ones laugh.

Michelle is survived by her parents, Patrick and Rita McGrath; her siblings Malcolm McGrath, Shane McGrath, Amanda Bien and Jeremy Bien; their daughter Rosalie Bien; Robert and Tamara McGrath, along with their children Jaxon, Ava, and Isla McGrath. She also leaves behind her beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. She will be reunited with her grandparents, Myron and Catherine Garth, Bob and Marie McGrath. We will carry her in our hearts always. As the Beatles sang in “Michelle My Bell”,

“I love you, I love you, I love you. That’s all I want to say.”

And truly, Michelle—that is all we want to say. We love you, and we always will.

A visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 414 North Allen Avenue, on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow at the church.
