Our beloved Mother Nancy G. Fathers Christensen, 82, returned home to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday October 18, 2022.
Nancy was born in Australia, on January 29, 1940. She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1960 . She and her missionary companion were the first lady missionaries to serve in the Alaska/Canadian mission from 1961-1963. She married her beloved husband, Bruce Christensen, in June 1963, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They raised their family of 5 in Farmington, New Mexico for 45 years. Bruce and Nancy retired to Yucaipa, California to be with their son and family in 2008 where they served in the Redlands Temple for three years. After her husband passed in 2013 and with her health starting to decline, she moved to Lehi Utah to be with her daughter and family in 2017.
Nancy has been a huge example of love and compassion to all she came in contact with. Many have expressed that she has been a wonderful counselor and friend. She is an amazing mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and great grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services for Nancy will be held Wednesday, October 26, at 10:00 am Mountain Standard Time, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 400 W Apache St, Farmington, NM 87401.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Bruce Christensen, her daughter Sandra Christensen, her parents Arthur and Gladys Fathers, and many loving extended family members. She is survived by four of her children, Scott, Mark, Ann Marie, Bradly and their families including 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
She will be laid to rest next to her sweetheart at the Kirtland Cemetery following services.
Her funeral will be broadcast for those who are unable to attend in person.
