Nelly Harvey

Nelly Harvey, 76, of Shiprock, New Mexico, passed away on December 6, 2025. She was born in Phoenix, Arizona on March 4, 1949, to John J. Harvey and Betty Blueeyes Harvey. Nelly’s clans are the Mud Clan and Red Goat.

Nelly did not attend school; she did household work where she cleaned houses and washed dishes. She enjoyed herding sheep when working out in the field. Nelly enjoyed working on the farm, she picked produce, melons, corn, all kinds of fruits like peaches, apricots, cherries, and pears. Nelly loved cooking for her family, she would make kneel down bread, steam corn, and Navajo cake. She loved playing with her cats, coloring, magazines, children’s books, and watching her TV shows and movies.

She is preceded in death by her parents John J. Harvey and Betty Blueeyes Harvey, brothers Andrew Harvey and Herbert Dennison, and grandparents Charley Blueeyes and Jane Pinto.

Nelly is survived by her brothers Harry Harvey, Earl Harvey, and David H. Harvey, and sisters Lorriane Naljahih Elnora Teasyatwho, LaVerne Aragon, and Rena H. Atcitty.

A celebration of life will be held at Farmington Funeral Home on Monday December 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Officiated by David Velasquez. Following burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery at 11:30 AM. A reception will be held at the LDS Church (400 W Apache St, Farmington, NM 87401) at 12:00 PM.

Pallbearers are Ambrose Teasyatwho Jr., Ambert Teasyatwho, Justin “Moochie” Teasyatwho, Checota Teasyatwho, Donny B. Blueeyes, and Zachary Blueeyes.
