Nelson E. Cadava, 90, of Blanco, NM went home to be with his Heavenly Father on November 24, 2023.

Nelson was born in Panama and his family later moved to San Diego, CA.

During his high school years, he was on the wrestling team and was named Mr. San Diego High. Nelsons trophy is displayed inside the Hall of Champions in San Diego, CA.

Nelson enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the Korean Conflict War and was part of the Seabees. He was on the Navy's wrestling team and was awarded the all Navy First Place Wrestling Champion.

Nelson met Josie at a dance club and has won a few dance contests.

They even made it in the Farmington Daily Times newspaper in May of 2006 during the Bloomfield Days events. Every chance they had, they would be at a dance. The local bands would invite them to where they would be playing.

Nelson is survived by his immediate family; his loving wife Josie of 65 years, daughter Bernice, son David E, grandson David M, and other relatives and friends.

He will be missed by his family and friends.

Services will be held on March 8, 2024 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Blanco, NM. Rosary at 10:00am and Mass at 10:30am.
