Emblem

On November 6th, 2025, Norman Hinton passed away in Farmington NM.

Norm had an amazing life. He was a proud Navy Veteran; he worked hard for BAR-F most of his Farmington career at service stations all over New Mexico as their manager and trouble shooter. After retiring he and Ouida spent quite a bit of time traveling around in their RV with all their close friends and working on his home. Norm liked everyone and people loved being around him. He could make the best barbeque ribs on his Weber grill. He had a great sense of humor and could always make all the kids laugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Raymond and Edith, son Michael Hinton, sisters, Dorothy Greenlee, Karen Broten and brother Howard Hinton. He is survived by his wife Ouida Hinton, 2 children Michelle and Mitchell (Loretta) Hinton, and His second family George, Anna, Gary, Natalie, Glen and Shawna Riley. 8 grandkids and 8 great grandchildren. Lots of extended family.

Norm lived to be 87 years old and had a full wonderful life. In the last year he did accept Jesus as his Savior when Scott Broten came to visit and pray with him.

There will be a small graveyard service for family and close friends will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery with Derrick McCuller officiating. A date and time will be determined shortly. A gathering of friends and family luncheon will be at George and Anna Riley’s home afterwards. In lieu of flowers the family would request memorial donations be made to the San Juan Medical Foundation on behalf of the Riley’s Men Health Fund.
