Obituary

Patricia Ann Powell was born on August 10, 1953, in Washington, D.C., to James Neville and Biggie Mattson.

She passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

To most, she was known as Patty, but to her family, she was lovingly known as Gummy. Patricia was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend whose love and kindness touched the lives of many. She was deeply rooted in her faith and cherished her family above all else.

Patricia had a special love for nature, gardening, and caring for her houseplants. She will also be fondly remembered for one of her sweetest traditions—calling her loved ones on their birthdays to sing “Happy Birthday” to them. These simple, loving gestures were a reflection of the warmth and joy she brought to those around her.

Patricia is survived by her five children, Laurie Dickens (Bob), Becky Beattie (Mike), Joey Wethington, Tommy Wethington, and Randy Powell; her grandchildren, Katelyn Rixon (Carl), Kristen Roark (AJ), Robbert Beattie, Natalie Powell, Divinity Jackson, and Keigun Lostak; and her great-grandchildren, Lane and Koraleigh Rixon. She is also survived by her dear friends, Cecilia and Barb, who held a special place in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Neville and Biggie Mattson, and her grandson, Adam Harmon.

Patricia will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Her faith, love for her family, and gentle spirit will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday August 21, 2026, from 3-4 PM at Farmington Funeral Home 2111 W. Apache Street, Farmington, NM 87401.
