Patricia Lynn Serrano, age 43 of Bloomfield, New Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, in Farmington. She was born on August 29, 1982, to Patrick Clark and Joyce Cummings.
Patricia was a bright light in the life of anyone who knew her. Creative, witty, and super smart, she was an artist, wrote stories and songs, and enjoyed making people laugh-adults with her jokes and dry sense of humor, children with her silly dances and antics. She loved music and could recite just about any song by heart, especially rap songs, Snoop Dogg in particular. Patricia could make friends with anyone. She would disarm them with a funny or sometimes shocking crack, and after they recovered, they would laugh together, and she had made another friend for life, adding to an already wide circle. Patricia was a Victim Advocate for the 11th Judicial District in Farmington. She had the biggest heart and was very generous with her time and emotional energy. She loved helping other people and was very good at it. She maintained relationships with some of the people she helped through her work until quite recently.
Patricia loved spending time with her family most of all, it was so important to her. She and Kevin were together for 23 years, married for 16. Patricia was a devoted mother to the 5 children in their blended family. She loved being a grandma and was a favorite aunt to her 8 nephews and 7 nieces. She loved children and they loved her. She was the youngest of four siblings, a cherished baby sister.
Patricia is preceded in death by her grandparents Meg and Jay Clark, and Joyce and James Ensley. She is survived by her beloved husband, Kevin, her children Marquis, Natalie, Isabella, Sophia, and Aviana, her grandchild Mae, her parents, Patrick (Jenny) and Joyce, and her sisters Heather (James), Sara, and Elizabeth (Aaron).
Although Patricia wasn’t Catholic, and didn’t regularly attend church, she wholeheartedly supported her soulmate’s desire to marry in the church and raise their children in the Catholic faith. She embraced family prayer and was present for every one of her children’s sacraments, joyfully helping plan the celebrations that followed. She had become more spiritual in recent years, and the church had become a touchstone for her; she would insist they drive by it and say a prayer of gratitude for getting them safely home every time they passed it. As such, a Rosary will be held at 10:00am, followed by Mass, then a reception on Friday, November 21, 2025, at Saint Mary Church in Bloomfield. Internment will take place at Greenmount Cemetery in Durango, Colorado on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 12:00pm.
Serving as pallbearers will be Marquis Valdez, James Guy, Aaron Wright, James Clark, Richard Gonzales, and Kaden Serrano. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Gonzales, Riley Serrano, Manuel Serrano II, Manuel Gonzales, Lucas Colorado, and Lincoln and Grant Wright.
