Peggy Dallas (82), born October 31, 1942, in Grayson County, Texas, peacefully passed away on June 22, 2025 in Durango, CO. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, faith, and devotion to her family. Peggy was the third of seven children born to Charles Amos Blassingame and Tennie Edith Short Blassingame.

She spent her early years in Kermit, Texas, growing up alongside her siblings in the post–World War II era. In 1956 ,the family relocated to La Plata, New Mexico, where she continued her childhood and embraced the values that would define her life.

On June 2, 1962, Peggy married Shelton Dallas, beginning a lifelong partnership marked by deep love and commitment. Together, they shared 57 wonderful years of marriage and raised four children: Christopher Dallas (Becky), Tenny Dallas, Rebecca Ham, and Holly Huber — each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.

Peggy was a devoted member of the Church of Christ and found strength, purpose, and community in her faith. She loved her church family dearly and was a constant and faithful presence in their fellowship. Her life was shaped by her unwavering belief in God, which she lived out with quiet grace and compassion.

One of Peggy’s greatest joys in life was her growing family. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her endless happiness, laughter, and love. Her home was always open to them, and her heart was full of encouragement, warmth, and wisdom.

Peggy is preceded in death by her beloved husband Shelton Dallas; her parents, Charles and Tennie Blassingame; her sister, Wanda (Troxell) Blassingame; and her brother, Clifford Blassingame.
