Ramona Martha Gonzales, 76, of Farmington, passed away peacefully October 31, 2020, with her family by her side. She was born to the late Donaciano and Marcella Sanchez, August 1944, in Farmington, NM. Ramona was a graduate of Farmington High School and continued her education at the Latin American Bible Institute in El Paso, TX. She was married to Abel “Ken” Gonzales in 1972. Ramona was preceded in death by her daughter, Marcella Gonzales. She is survived by her husband, Ken Gonzales, her two children, daughter, Marlene and son-in-law, Garvin Ramkaran of Tulsa, OK, and son, Angelo and daughter-in-law, Erica Gonzales of Aberdeen, MD, her sister, Theresa Duran, and her brother, Donald Sanchez. She had 5 grandchildren: Jeremy, Luke and Taylor Ramkaran, and Cammie and Gideon Gonzales.
Ramona spent her adult life serving in ministry with her husband Ken, teaching at Southern Arizona Bible College, pastoring in Colorado, Wyoming, Texas, and New Mexico, and co-founding The House of Prayer in Farmington, NM. She found great joy in the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Those who knew her best will remember her deep love for Jesus and her rich, alto voice. Upon news of her health decline, she sang, “It is Well With My Soul.”
Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 6th, 2020 at 12 noon at New Life Farmington Church, 8121 E Main Street, Farmington, NM 87402. Internment will follow in a private ceremony at Kirkland Fruitland Cemetery.
