Robert Lee Dotson was born on May 10, 1970, in Farmington, New Mexico. He passed away on April 5, 2023, at the age of 52. He spent his life in the Farmington area and was the only child of Connie Blevins. He had a strong love of his country and enlisted in the Navy after high school. An injury during basic training ended his service, but he never stopped being a patriot. Robbie married the love of his life, Kim, in 2012 and they blended their households into a beautiful family. Together they built a home that was filled with laughter and love.

Robbie was a mechanic by trade, following a love of working on cars that carried him through his life. He spent his free time spoiling his grandchildren, playing pool, tinkering around with backyard projects and being under the hood of his Jeep. Robbie was a selfless man that lived for his family. He showed his love by taking time to call his mom every day, making a home for friends that wandered through the door, and building forts to prepare for sleepovers for his grandchildren. He was known to drop everything to help someone in need, and when he listened to a story, you knew he genuinely cared. He never missed an important date, graduation or sporting event for his kids. He was the first person to answer a call at night to help someone in need, whether it was driving 200 miles to repair a car on the side of the road for his son (more than once!) or simply pitching in to help a neighbor.

He loved spending time outdoors and making lasting memories with his family. He looked forward to their annual family trip to the cabin in Creede, Colorado where he could be found fishing and chasing after his grandchildren that called him Papa. He treasured time with his oldest boys and loved being a dad to his beautiful daughters. Robbie and Brandan spent countless hours together under the hood of various vehicles, either as a hobby or a necessity. Robbie and Coltin spent their time working together in the yard, He and his oldest daughter Ali always joked about their quote from the movie Step Brothers "Robert better not get in my face" it was their thing. He enjoyed listening to his daughter Julia sing with her high school choir, and said he thought she had the voice of an angel. He was preparing for his youngest son Zach's graduation in May and had worked tirelessly to finish his backyard project for the upcoming celebration. Robbie was so proud of his middle son Max for serving his country and now his community. His memory will live on in all that he built and loved in this life. He will be remembered as a well-respected, hardworking man that loved his family and friends.

Robbie is survived by his mother Connie Blevins, and his wife Kim Dotson, along with their children Brandan Dotson, his wife Taylor and daughters Ashlynn, and Jalynn; Coltin Dotson and his daughter Jesslynn; Alexandria Jojola, her daughter Mia; Maxwell Jojola, his wife Alyxandrea and son Garrett; Zachary Mora-Dotson; and Julia Dotson. He was proceeded in death by his father Jess Blevins in September 2017.

The memorial service to celebrate his life will held be on Monday April 24, 2023, at 11am at the Hills Church in Farmington, New Mexico. The service will be immediately followed by a reception at the church for family and friends, who are welcome to bring a dish to share for the meal.
