Farmington

Robert Grubelnik, 82, of Farmington, New Mexico, passed away on February 3, 2023, in Farmington, New Mexico. Robert was born in Raton, New Mexico, on April 1, 1941, to parents Charles "Moonie" Grubelnik and Minnie Bosche.
After graduating from Raton H.S. in 1959; he joined Local 412 as a pipefitter in 1962. His country called his name, and he joined the Army and served his country until 1966. After an honorable discharge, he returned to Raton and married the love of his life Linda Bonomelli and become a father to his son Rob. In 1968, Bob and Linda welcomed a beautiful daughter, Trudy who was a daddy's girl from the minute she was born, and they shared an unbreakable bond. He restarted his career with Local 412 as a pipefitter and brought his family to Farmington in 1971; where he spent years working in the power plants in New Mexico and Arizona. He left the power plants in 1989 and bought a welding machine and took off pipelining. This career took him across the country where he laid many miles of pipe up until he reached the age of 72. In 2007, he welcomed a son in law, Jeff who quickly become not only his travel buddy but his favorite welding partner. In his spare time, he loved to fish, hunt and watch NASCAR. But his biggest joy came from watching his granddaughter play soccer and basketball. He lived to tell stories of all the welding jobs he and his buddies did and always spoke about his pride and joy granddaughter.

Robert is preceded by his wife Linda Grubelnik, parents Charles Grubelnik and Minnie Bosche, and sister Dorothy Perkins.

Robert is survived by his son Rob Grubelnik, daughter Trudy Cundiff (Jeff), brothers Don Grubelnik, and Bob Bosche, sister Lorraine Wingo, niece Gena Sparango and nephew Tony Grubelnik, and granddaughter Chantel Grubelnik.
