Roger Lee Downhour passed away at age 76 on April 8, 2024, in Farmington, New Mexico. Born on January 8, 1948, in Kokomo, Indiana to parents Clarence and Dorothy Downhour.

He retired from a career as a weights and measures inspector in Elkhart County, Indiana. In his free time, Roger enjoyed golfing, fishing, and target shooting at the San Juan Wildlife Federation where he worked at the gate on Saturday mornings. Roger was a veteran of the Army National Guard.

 Twenty years ago, Roger received a heart transplant, which inspired him to advocate for organ donation. He was an active member of his church community. Known for his warm, friendly nature, Roger made connections with people from all walks of life. He loved the Lord, and his faith brought him great joy and he is now enjoying his time in Heaven.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife Joyce Downhour, stepson Eric Settles, brother Richard Downhour of Arizona, and sister Bobbie Palmer of Michigan.

A memorial service will take place at a later date at Christ the Rock Lutheran Church in Farmington, officiated by Pastor Jon Brohn. Please check back for updates. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Christ the Rock Lutheran Church in Farmington, NM.
