Rolena Ann Brown

Rolena Ann Brown, age 60, of Shiprock, New Mexico passed away on March 17, 2024, in Farmington, New Mexico.

Rolena was born on May 1, 1963, in Farmington, New Mexico, to parents Jerry Jay Johnson and Rose Ann Johnson. Todichíi’nii clan born for the Tl’ááshchi’i clan.

Rolena Brown was a loving, bubbly soul. She greeted everyone as a friend. She was loved by her family and friends. She was married to her loving husband Sam for 42 years. They blessed the world with three daughters, Samara, Rhianna and Savannah. She had 11 grandkids who she loved dearly. Her disability never limited her ability to support all who she loved. Rolena always had a smile on her face and dressed lovely every day. She was strong in her faith with the lord. She enjoyed singing Háálá Ayóo Diyin and she taught her grandkids a special prayer that they say daily.

Rolena is proceeded in death by her daughter Savannah Renee Brown, brother Samuel Johnson, grandson Jayden Barber and mother Rose Ann Johnson.

Rolena is survived by her husband Sam Brown, son Ronnie Begaye, daughters, Samara Brown and Rhianna and Omar Bogor. Father, Jerry J. Johnson Sr, brothers, Herman Johnson and Jerry Johnson Jr, sisters, Nancy Light, Carrie Garnanez, Kerlena Tso as well as her grandchildren, Jacob Begaye, Kylilah Nakai, Isaiah Nakai, Jordan Brown, Guilherme Nakai, Kyniah Nakai, Kamia Begay Bogor, Maymuna Bogor, Maryam Bogor and Koda Bogor.

Services are scheduled for Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 11:00 am at Riverside Bread of Life in Fruitland, NM and will be officiated by Pastor Tom White.

Intermet will take place at the Shiprock Cemetery at 1:30pm and a reception will follow at Shiprock Catholic Center at 3:00 pm.

Pallbearers are Ronnie Begaye, Jacob I. Begaye, Omar Bogor, Tyrell Sandoval, Matthias S. Nabahe, Lavell Light and Kamia Begay.
