Ron Goshorn "Power by Gosh"
Ron ran the race of his life this past year, finally crossing the finish line, taking his checkered flag on April 19th. Anyone that knew Ron would agree on what a talented hardworking, funny, witty guy he was with ingenuity that amazed us all. Ron was born January 5th, 1943, in Dove Creek, CO. After graduating from Farmington High School in 1962, he served in Vietnam until 1966. Ron was a very proud American veteran. After finishing his service, he married his love, Sharon of 57 years and having 2 children. Ron loved his family very much along with his 55 chevy and his infamous dog “Ernie”. He loved to garden and always had the most beautiful yard. Ron also raced and built championship motors in the four corners and surrounding areas for many years. His son George than took over the “Power by Gosh” name and his famous “#69” which was a very proud moment for him. Along with JJ Harpole who won many championship races with his motors.
Ron is proceeded in death by his son, George Goshorn, his parents, Ethal Adin and Earl Goshorn, his grandson, Nikki Pena and his siblings, Herb, Lowell, Glen, Royal, Mac and Eline Roth.
Ron is survived by his wife Sharon, his daughter Dee Ann Pena, his grandchildren, Noel Pena, Gerr Pena, Adrian Alcala, Janessa Goshorn and his 6 great grandkids.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday April 27th, 2024, at 1:00pm, at the Nazarene Church in Aztec, New Mexico. In rev of flowers, we are asking everyone to wear purple or your race car t-shirts.
