Ronald "Ron" Schumacher, lovingly known as "Papa" to his grandchildren, passed away on April 24, 2026, at the age of 63 after a courageous and unexpected battle with pancreatic cancer.
Ron was born on April 6, 1963, in Houston, Texas, but spent his childhood growing up in Pea Ridge, Arkansas. Those early years shaped so much of who he became. He spent his days playing baseball with his dad, riding bikes, and exploring the creeks with his brothers. From a young age, Ron learned the value of hard work and hands-on skill, gaining experience in electrical work and construction that would later define his career. The Schumacher family often traveled to Colorado and surrounding areas, camping and hiking together in their travel trailer, while also spending time working around the family ranch. He had his Mothers Eyes and often enjoyed helping his mother cook.
In 1974, the family moved to Orem, Utah. Where he finished middle school. He often rode bikes in irrigation ditches with his brothers.
Not long after, they packed up and settled in Farmington, New Mexico. Where he started high school and obtained his GED in 1981. He worked in Florida on his electrical career for a short time, before returning and continuing his work with Echo Electric. In the early 90s Ron bought his first home, a place that quickly became his lifelong project. He loved remodeling, building, and improving it, always finding joy in the process of creating something with his hands.
In 1995, Ron met the love of his life, Terri, who was working as a waitress at Clancy's Pub. One night, he walked in with friends, struck up a conversation, and asked her to a concert, the beginning of a love story that would last a lifetime.
By 2005, Ron had built enough experience and confidence to start his own electrical company, turning his passion and skill into a business that reflected his work ethic and heart. For nearly 20 years, Ron owned and operated AMP Electric, alongside his wife, where he built not only a successful business but also countless lasting friendships.
He was a master electrician by trade and truly a jack of all trades in life. There was never a problem, too big or too small. Ron believed anything could be fixed, and he would always find a way.
He took great pride in his work and found joy in helping others, whether through his craft or simply lending a hand. He was a damn good electrician.
Ron shared 32 beautiful years of marriage with his wife and soulmate, Terri. Their love was deep, steady, and unwavering, a true partnership that stood the test of time. Ron wanted Terri by his side and if she wasn't, he was asking where she was. They had a beautiful connection and were truly best friends.
Ron loved every child who walked through his door as if they were his own. His greatest joy was being papa. He cherished his grandchildren deeply, teaching them how to fix things around the house and passing down his knowledge, patience, and love. He used the time spent with them to be intentional and present.
Ron will be remembered as a loving, caring, and gentle man, someone who made people feel safe, welcomed, and valued. His personality was silly and warm. His legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the lives he touched, and the love he gave so freely.
Ron is preceded in death by his mother Betty Schumacher, Harland Welch (Father-in-law), and his brother Daniel Schumacher.
Ron is survived by his wife Terri Schumacher, sons Jake Moore, and Josh Moore, Ana Moore (Daughter in law), Brothers Frank Schumacher, Greg Schumacher, and Mark Schumacher, grandchildren Mariah, Melina, Jacob, Jessy, Nadia, Noah, and Averee, and great grandchild Daniel.
