Rudy Glenn Ferrari

April 4, 1948 — September 6, 2023

Foss

Rudy Glenn Ferrari, 75, of Foss, Oklahoma entered the gates of heaven Wednesday, September 6, 2023. He was born April 4, 1948 in Farmington, NM to Derald and Charline Ferrari.

Rudy grew up in North East New Mexico. He graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1966 and was awarded a Choir Scholarship to Adam’s State University in Alamosa, CO. After college he moved to Oklahoma and got involved in various jobs in the oilfield. After the oilfield bust, he then began a career in banking. One of his greatest accomplishments while in banking, was when he helped move the First State Bank located in Foss to Burns Flat which became Washita State Bank. In 1990 he opened Rudy’s Superette. Being that he never met a stranger, he got to know people in the community, was very thoughtful helping those in need, and very active in youth sports and livestock showing, until he sold Rudy’s in March of 2018. After retiring, Rudy was extremely involved with his grandchildren and their activities. If you caught him at the Sale Barn or Veterinarian office you were sure to hear about them. Up until his death, he and his son, Daniel, spent every day together working on their thriving cattle and horse operation. Having raised and showing horses he came by it naturally. Rudy always loved going on his yearly pheasant and quail hunts with family and friends. One of his passions was coaching his daughter in softball. He and Devyn went to many softball college world series.

Rudy was preceded in death by; his parents John Derald Ferrari and Charline Ann Wood, his grandparents Rudy and Albina Ferrari and Glen and Julia Wood, and his brother Vince Ferrari.

Rudy is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Lynn Ferrari; sons Daniel Ferrari, David Ferrari, his daughters Devyn Galmor and husband, Levy, DeAnza Sanders and husband, James. His brothers Mick (Deb) Ferrari, and Mike (Terry) Ferrari; sister Sheree Ferrari; and sister-in-law Helen Ferrari, grandchildren; Carsen, Cale, Cullen and Cortlyn Galmor.

There will be a celebration of his life at 11:00 am Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Burns Flat, Oklahoma. Officiated by Tom Spence, Leon Williams, and Erick Williams. Pallbearers are Daniel Ferrari, Levy Galmor, Jim Davis, Rick Reeves, Mick Ferrari, and Mike Ferrari.
