Shane L. McDaniel, a beloved resident of Farmington, NM, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on August 1, 1959 in Farmington, Shane spent his life deeply rooted in the community he cherished.
Shane's life was marked by his enduring marriage to his loving wife, Elena Valdez McDaniel, and his dedication to his family, which included a cherished blended family of children and grandchildren. Known affectionately in the Single Action Shooting Society as "Shaky Shane," he enjoyed sharing his passion for the sport with friends and fellow enthusiasts, but more so with his daughter Courtney.
For over four decades, Shane worked at Big A Auto Parts, where he became a trusted and familiar face. His extensive knowledge of automotive parts and his unwavering patience made him an invaluable resource to many in the community. Shane's ability to connect with people meant he never met a stranger, and his warm, friendly demeanor made him a great father and a good friend to many.
Shane was predeceased by his father, Riley Leonard McDaniel, his mother, Lela May (Donaldson) McDaniel, his brother Ted McDaniel, and his sister Sharon Riner. He is survived by his devoted wife, Elena Valdez McDaniel, and his siblings: brothers Stephen and Mickey McDaniel, and sisters Jude McDaniel and Kellee Brandenberg. He leaves behind a legacy in his children and grandchildren, Son, Zachary McDaniel (Christine). Daughters, Amanda Taylor (Gaylon), Lauren Soliz (Santiago), Hayley McDaniel, Courtney McDaniel.
Bonus children Joshua Lewis (Audrey), Matthew Lewis, Amanda Bedell (Mark), Angela Brumley (Lonny).
Grandkids: Colby and Brayden McDaniel, Kinsey Johnson, Isayah Soliz, Joaquin Soliz, Noah Soliz, Andrew Soliz, Madison Woolrich, Adan Sanchez, Adrian Sanchez, Manny Sanchez, Everley Sanchez.
Bonus grandchildren Karisma Lewis, Joshua Lewis, Jr., Angela Garcia, Alissa Lewis, Daniella Smith, Leila Bedell, Reina Bedell, Jaxon Bedell, Jhae Espinosa, Caedyn North, Daetyn Brumley, Taeryk Brumley, and bonus great grandchild baby Oakley who will continue to carry forward his memory and love.
A celebration of Shane's life will be held on June 21st, 2025, at the Kiwanis Park Henry Shelter, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor Shane's life, sharing memories and stories that highlight his enduring impact on all who knew him.
