Sharon Lee Smith

Sharon Lee Smith (maiden Furtek) went to be with our Heavenly Father January 27th, 2026. Sharon was born in California on September 11, 1950, to Julian and Cherry Furtek. Sharon was raised in the Midwest and lived primarily in New Mexico for the majority of her life.

She was proceeded in death by her Beloved husband, Glenn D. Smith, as well as her parents: Julian Furtek, and her mother: Cherry Furtek, also an older brother: Kenny Furtek, and older sister Catherine Schnakenberg, a nephew: Sammy Khalifeh, as well as one of her dearest friends Gracie Shelby.

Sharon is survived by her two daughters: Tiffany Williams, and Angela Maes, and their families, and one sibling: Sandra Furtek, a niece and two nephews; Robin Collins and her family, Scott Schnakenberg, and Sean Schnakenberg and his family, who were the center of her life and heart.

Sharon served as a hairdresser in the community for some years, followed by being a licensed pharmacy technician, subsequently work at Sam’s Club for a number of years where she formed many meaningful relationships and grew especially fond of many of the members she served.

Above all else, Sharon was deeply devoted to Jesus Christ, her faith was the foundation of her life. – Reflected in her support of missions: International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (18 years) plus supporting her granddaughter for her mission to Africa (Aurora). Sharon’s constant use of her spiritual gift as an encourager and her humility was evident to all, she discipled her family at every opportunity.

Shared a love of music, especially Elvis Presley, which was often playing and brought joy into her home.

Memorial services will be held In May or June 2026. Additional details will be shared when arrangements are finalized.
