Tara Lee Swenk, 76, of Farmington, New Mexico, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on October 19, 2026. Tara was born to Edwin and Peggy Pearce on June 23, 1950, in Pocatello, Idaho. She had one sibling, Steven (Roberta) Pearce.

Tara married Ron Swenk on July 21, 1979. Together, they had one son, Eric, and one granddaughter, Imelia, who brought great joy to her life. Tara was a woman of deep faith whose life was marked by her dedication to her family, church callings, and singing. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend.Tara was extremely excited when it was announced that the Farmington New Mexico Temple would be built within a block of her home. She found great comfort in attending the temple and went as often as she could. She loved having church callings and especially enjoyed being involved in family history. Tara also loved to sing and formed the Glitterbug singing group.

In her earlier years, Tara enjoyed working as a hairdresser and makeup artist. She took great pride in teaching women through the "COLOR ME BEAUTIFUL" customer questionnaire how to determine their cosmetic color wheel through color analysis. She had the amazing ability to transform you from bland to beautiful. Tara was also a talented watercolor artist and loved to paint nature scenes.

Tara will be deeply missed by her family and friends and remembered for her faith, creativity, love of music, and the love she had for those around her.

Tara was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Peggy Pearce.

Tara is survived by her husband, Ron; son, Eric Swenk; brother, Steven Pearce; and granddaughter, Imelia Swenk.

Visitation for immediate family only will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 30, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Relief Society Room, 4410 College Blvd., Farmington, NM 87402. Funeral service will be held in the chapel at 11:00 a.m., with a luncheon to follow in the Cultural Hall.
