Terry Brackeen

Terry Neil "Burr" Brackeen passed away on June 14, 2023, at age 79. Burr was born in Wichita Falls, TX on August 27, 1943, to Doris and Silas "Buster" Brackeen. Burr was younger brother to Nancy and older brother to Jimmy, the "Bear." You may be able to tell the Brackeen's liked their nick names! Growing up, Burr lived in Texas and New Mexico and graduated from Farmington High School in 1961 and promptly joined the Navy. He served from 1961 to 1964 after which he moved to Las Vegas, NV and was employed by Southwest Gas; his one and only employer after military service. While in Las Vegas, Burr met and married the love of his life, JoAnn Rose. Jo and Burr lived in the Tucson, AZ area for many years before Burr finished his career with Southwest Gas in Carson City, NV. Burr retired from Southwest Gas in 1995. After retirement, Jo and Burr settled in Farmington, NM to be close to all their family that lived in the area. Burr was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bear, and his dear wife Jo. He is survived by his son Ty Brackeen (Tisha), daughter Angel, granddaughter Tyla Rudin (Ryan), grandson Trey Brackeen (Kenna) and great grandsons Kaden and Ethan Monat. Per Burr's request, there will be no memorial service. However, for those who would like to honor him, please consider donating to a Veteran's charity as that was close to his heart.
