Troy Leon Pope Jr

Troy Leon Pope Jr, a beloved father, grandfather, and husband, passed away at the age of 72 on April 17, 2024, in Farmington, New Mexico.

Born on June 19, 1951, in Muskogee, Oklahoma to parents Troy Leon Pope Sr. and Jimmie Pauline Bullard Pope.

Troy graduated from Farmington High School in 1970. After high school, he honorably served his country in the United States Army as a PV2 and Crewman, where he became a Certified Wheel Vehicle Mechanic and earned a Marksman M16 and a National Defense award. Following his time in the Army, Troy attended college in Phoenix and received training as a motorcycle mechanic. He spent many years working as a rig-up truck driver in the oilfield industry.

In his free time, Troy loved camping with family, watching westerns and Avatar, fast cars, motorcycles (especially Harleys) boats and collecting. But above all, he cherished the time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Troy loved to reminisce about the times he would sing with his mom Pauline and serenading his wife, Julie. His favorite colors are purple and blue.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son Danny Wayne.

Troy is survived by his loving wife Julie, children Troy Lee, Danielle Ashley, and Tiffany Nicole, siblings James Pope, Rebecca Anderson, and Catherine Nunez, and many grandchildren whom he loved dearly. 

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Sycamore Park in Farmington, followed by a reception at the park.
