Virginia Lee (Calkin) Davis of Piedmont, Oklahoma went home to be with Jesus on March 28, 2026. Virginia was born in Fairfield, Illinois on January 12, 1933. She was the third of six children and the only daughter of William Lee Calkin and Claudine Isabella Beheimer.
She was preceded in death by both parents and brothers Jack, Jim, Bill, Bert, and Martin.
Virginia met Horace Freeman “H.F.” Davis while she was attending Trevecca Nazarene College in Nashville, Tennessee. She married Freeman on August 6, 1954, and they were months away from being married 60 years when H.F. passed away in 2014. Together, they had five children: Alma, Eunice, Freeman, Jeffrey, and Vonya.
She is preceded in death by both parents and brothers Jack, Jim, Bill, Bert, and Martin, her daughter, Alma, Alma’s infant son, Jeremy and Alma’s grandson, Jeremy Lee as well as her son, Freeman, and Freeman’s daughter, Brandi Lee.
She is survived by her daughter Eunice and husband Steve, her son Jeffrey and wife Charlotte, her daughter Vonya and husband Mark, a cherished son-in-law Lynn, and cherished daughter-in-law, Georgi. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jason, Shelly, Jennifer, Timothy, Courtney, Cody, Cauy, Ryan, Kyle, Ty, Chelsea, Natalie, and Abigail; great-grandchildren: Gemini, Savanah, Jade, Michael, Destiny, Trinity, Creed, Johanna, Stevie, Carry Ann, Tristan, Lily, Kaylin, Jordan, Hunter, Ava, Walker, Coltan, Conner, Brayden, Landen, Westden, Payden, Lane, and Charlotte; and great-great-grandchildren: Aiden, Mystery, Caleb, and Sammy.
Virginia’s kindness and charm drew people to her, and she readily shared her contagious laughter with everyone she met. She was also known by many for her talent as a pianist. Virginia imparted Godly wisdom to her children and grandchildren as well as many friends who she met along life’s journey. Her steadfast faith in Jesus Christ was an inspiration to many. Virginia will be missed for her hilarious perspective on life and quick wit, the way she cared about people and offered her sage advice, and her influence of relying on Jesus for every part of life.
