Virginia Collins

Longtime resident Virginia "Ginnie" Collins (Rushing), 85 left us to be with Jesus on Sunday, January 2, 2022.

Ginnie was born in Oklahoma to Bud and Birdie Rushing but was raised in and lived in Aztec most of her life. After graduating from Aztec High School in 1956, she married Harvey Collins (later divorced), they lived and raised their children here. There are few people in the area whose lives Ginnie did not touch in some way during her stay on Earth. She was employed for many years by San Juan County in the Treasurers and the Assessors office.

She enjoyed perusing flea markets and yard sales with her long-time friend and companion Dee Giles, she met many old friends and made new friends during her expeditions around San Juan County.

Virginia's parents, her sisters Sue and Johnnie Lynn, and her brothers Phillip and Donnie, all preceded her to Heaven.

Virginia is survived by her son Allen and his wife Carla, her daughter Shari, along with four grandchildren: Cory, Courtney, Jordan, and Danni, Several great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Marlis, numerous nieces & nephews, and many friends.

Her greatest joy was her loving family, Ginnie will be greatly missed by all whose path she crossed.

At her request no service will be held at this time, there will be a memorial and celebration of her life for family and friends at a later date.
