Obituary

Funeral service for Ben Thomas Jr., age 66 of Tohatchi, New Mexico, will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 10:00 AM, Rollie Mortuary Chapel. A private burial will take place for immediate family only.

Ben passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 3, 2021. He was born November 19, 1954, in Ft. Defiance, Arizona. To the late Mary Manuelito and Ben Thomas Sr. Ben was a counselor for the Navajo Nation Behavior Health, and retired enjoying what he loved, which was addressing the Mental Health needs for his people. Not only was he a counselor, he was an auto mechanic all his life. When he was very young kid, his desire was to tinker with things that had an engine in it. Whether it be a vehicle, motorcycle or a radio. Anything that was fast and loud. He was an avid reader, always soaking up knowledge to share with is family and friends. His favorite book to read was the Bible. He had a soft gentle spirit that radiated to those around him. The love for his family was special and enormous! You never left his presence without feeling loved and valued.

He is survived by siblings, Brothers: Conrad Thomas and Tony Tom. Sisters: Kathy Standing Rock, Edith Whitecrow, Sandra Curley, Pearl Morgan, Charlotte Thomas, Jackie Thomas and Alberta Bennett. Along with numerous nieces and nephews he dearly loved.

Ben is proceed in death by his Parents: Mary Manuelito and Ben Thomas Sr. Brothers: Bennie Thomas, Dave Thomas, Ernie Manuelito, Jerry Manuelito, and Elmer Manuelito. Sisters: Mary Ann Chewiwi, Julia Billiman and Brenda Thomas.
