Lila Hare

Lila Lee Hare, 88, of Farmington, New Mexico passed away on November 17, 2021, in Farmington, New Mexico. Born on June 19, 1933, in Aztec, New Mexico, to parents William J. and Ina Mae Wylie.

Lila lived in San Juan County her entire life and loved the Four Corners area and the beautiful Colorado mountains.

The Hare Family built and owned Hesperus Ski Center for many years and Lila and her sisters-in-law could be seen in the snack bar serving customers.

Lila loved to travel, and the family enjoyed many vacations.

She was an animal lover and loved her cats and the wildlife who frequently visited her yard.

Lila was a kind soul and always had a beautiful smile for everyone she met.

Lila is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn R. Hare, parents William J and Ina Mae Wylie and grandparents George and Bob Hall.

Lila is survived by her son Robert L. Hare (Jenny), daughters Janet A. Waggoner (Carroll), and Carolyn R. Carter, grandchildren James Carter, Kristian Carter (Holli), Matthew Waggoner (Jennifer), Travis Waggoner, Great grandchildren Aerica Carter, Amanda Carter, Katherine Carter, Jeremy Carter, Charles Carter, Ryder Waggoner, Marlee Skinner, Matthew Langdon, Isaiah Suderman, Alysha Suderman, and McKenzie Suderman, and great-great grandchild, Austin Tourne.

A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 1:00pm.

Donations/Memorials can be made to: Farmington Animal Shelter, San Juan Animal League, and the Farmington Museum.
