Valerina Toledo

Valerina Lyne Toledo, 48, of Durango, Colorado passed away on August 18, 2021, in Grand Junction, Colorado. Valerina was born on May 14, 1973, in Bloomfield, New Mexico to Nelson and Ramona Toledo. Born to Traash chi’ í dine, born for: Kin tichii’ni dine, chei clan: Na neesh teezhi dine, naali clan: Haash trish ni dine.

Valerina attended San Juan College in Farmington, New Mexico where she received her A.S. Degree, For Lewis College in Durango, Colorado where she received her bachelor’s degree in Business Management and later went on to receive her master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of New Mexico. She was employed at Raytheon in both Farmington, New Mexico and Tucson, Arizona, BHP in Kirtland, New Mexico, as well as Dillard’s, Rue 21 and Debs in Farmington, New Mexico.

Valerina’s hobbies were sewing crafts, designing projects for others and herself. She LOVED to cook, travel and always found time to help others, inspiring them to do their best. She was top 5% of Google reviews and received an invite to Google Headquarters.

Valerina was involved in 13 Residential and Commercial construction projects in various phases of Mars Construction, which Val and Lamar founded and created.

Valerina is preceded in death by her Maternal grandfather Frank Kilmer Lopez, Paternal grandparents Juanita Chiquito, Gilbert Toledo Sr., and Great grandmother Ella Platero Toledo.

Valerina is survived by her Husband Lamar Nez, Stepson Scottie Nez, daughter Jazmin Begaye Caplinger, Parents, Nelson and Ramona Kay Toledo, brothers Nathaniel, Travis Scott, and Roger Lee Toledo, adopted brother Joshua Howe, sister Tashina Rose Toledo, sister-in-law Jannelle Peterson Toledo, Bernice Chavez, and Grandmother Lucy Guerito Lopez.

Funeral Service will be held at Farmington Funeral Home on Thursday August 26, 2021, at 11:00am. Burial at Kirtland Fruitland Cemetery in Kirtland, New Mexico will follow services at 1:30pm.
